Locals Supporting Locals

Fenland Dog Park is proud to be supporting Long Sutton Cricket Club and Long Sutton Hockey Club, and is equally grateful for your continued local support.

At the beginning of September we held our first feedback morning, inviting locals through social media posts and A5 invites dropped into letter boxes to give us their thoughts and any concerns on the Dog Park.ย  Thank you to all those who called in, and we also had many messages of support on Facebook, a few suggestions to improve the facility, and some suggestions for tree planting.ย  It was great and encouraging that there was lots of positive feedback; we will keep working hard.ย  We took on board a couple of the suggestions, and added a sand pit for the dogs to have a dig in, and also made a hardstanding area at the entrances to the dog park and the small dog / puppy zone, to help prevent it getting muddy with the amount of feet walking around.

We are really proud to be supporting both Long Sutton Cricket Club and Long Sutton Hockey Club this year.ย  Following a break-in to the cricket maintenance store and the loss of their mowers, tools and other equipment they took on various fundraising events to replace these items, including allowing local companies to sponsor a banner on the outfield.ย  Long Sutton Dog Park was delighted to be involved, and was even more pleased when at the end of the season the First XI were crowned champions of the South Lincs and Border League Championship (SLBL), and have now gained promotion to the Lincolnshire ECB Premier League, joining the likes of Spalding, Grantham & Sleaford.ย  Well done to all the cricket teams and the other promotions gained.

On the hockey front we also have a banner on the side of the astroturf fencing, and have Player Sponsored Alex Canham, who regularly features on the goal scoring sheet.ย  We are really pleased to be supporting Alex and Long Sutton Hockey Club, especially as Alex and his four-legged friends are regular visitors to Fenland Dog Park.ย  We wish all the hockey teams just starting their campaign a safe and successful season.

There has been a definite change to the weather recently, with more seasonal temperatures, a bit more rain and even some frosts on the forecast. ย Looking back, September was a glorious month and Fenland Dog Park was busy with bookings, averaging 7 bookings per day, and the weekends fully booked.ย  Our 500 Facebook followers have kindly been sharing some of the fun times they have had with their dogs at Fenland Dog Park; thank you all.

In the interest of site and customer safety, due to the day length getting shorter, we will be blocking out the availability of the later booking slots, as the nights draw in.ย  All bookings for the Dog Park are done on our website at www.fenlanddogpark.co.uk and this is up to date with available slots, now taking into account the shorter site opening hours.

Please feel free to subscribe to our Newsletters and follow us on social media @fenlanddogpark, so you are the first to know what we are up to.
