Spring Has Nearly Sprung!

We are hoping that Spring will be with us full time soon at Fenland Dog Park!  Day length is increasing and more booking slots are being made available.

At Fenland Dog Park we had a nearly ‘average’ winter, as can be seen from the Met Office charts below, who use RAF Holbeach weather station data for our region.  The weather has certainly felt dryer than recent years, but I don’t remember seeing an average amount of sunshine!

We have been treated to a lovely start to Spring, but temperatures have dipped back again for this week…..was that a ‘Fool’s Spring’?!  After a good spell of dryer weather and the welcomed appearance of the sun, then the birds were singing, the bees were buzzing, flowers and blossoms were showing and the mighty Kubota will soon be back mowing the paddock again!

One of the joys of spring is that the day length extends and some of us no longer have to start and finish work in the dark!  Longer day length meant that at the end of February we were able to open up Fenland Dog Park 17:00-18:00 booking slot, and with the clocks changing at the end of the month (Spring Forward 1 hour), then we will be able to extend our opening hours further again.

Following on from our one-year Council planning review, in line with other dog parks in South Holland area, the Council have allowed us to be open from 7am to 8pm, an upgrade from the previous 8am to 7pm permission.  We appreciate the fairness from the Council to allow us the same rules which others have been permitted, and we hope you are able to take advantage of these extra hours and enjoy it with your dogs.  This means that when day light allows, at the end of March, our first available booking slot will be from 7am.  At the other end of the day, our last available booking slot will start at 7pm, to finish just before 8pm.  All available booking slots and times will be available as usual on our website, www.fenlanddogpark.co.uk.

Not that we want to rush time away, but as we head into Autumn and daylight starts to decrease again, we will limit access and reduce opening times to the Dog Park to daylight hours as previous.

We are still getting new customers visit Fenland Dog Park which is fantastic, taking us to over 1,600 different customers using this local facility.  We also have over 750 Facebook followers and have enjoyed seeing you posts and stories on social media – please keep them coming!  Thank you all for your continued support to the Dog Park.  We try our best to make the site safe, clean and enjoyable for all to use, and by following site rules and especially by being vigilant and picking up after your dogs can help us all.  We wish you and your dogs a lovely Spring, filled with fun and sunshine.
